The BackrubberOne three metre Backrubber Applicator will service up to one hundred animals. Depending on the size of the paddock, one is required in a small one and several in a large paddock. The one metre model is ideal in very small holding yards or feed lots and also hung off the main backrubber. Stock need very little encouragement to use them. Once they are familiar with the Backrubber, you will quite often see cattle lined up to use them.
Initial cost is very low and maintenance and servicing is minimal; labour costs are cut considerably; no mustering; dipping or spraying in boggy yards is eliminated; the loss of insecticide by rain after spraying or dipping is eliminated. Backrubber Applicator can be removed easily and stored under cover when it is not required, during cooler months. Doing this can considerably extend the life span of the Backrubber Applicator. Australian Livestock Backrubbers are also referred to as Backscratchers or Backrubs. |
ManufacturingWhen manufacturing the Backrubber Applicator, we use only the highest quality materials available. The chain and felt are Queensland made while the netting is a Japanese product of the strongest nylon twine.

Setting Up Your Backrubber
There are different sizes and different ways to hang your Backrubbers, here are a few ideas;
The 1 metre and 40cm Dunkems are best used in holding yards or feed lots; simply hang from the main 2 metre or 3 metre Backrubber or from rafters, around feeding troughs from tree branches etc. Dip into a drum or container to charge or attach to drum if self-oiling.
The 2 and 3 metre, regular and self-oiling Backrubbers are generally hung where cattle camp, water or feed.
Regular Backrubbers; Hang the Backrubber to a post positioned 2 or 3 metres out from a tree or fence post, around 1.8m high one end and 1m high the other end.
Pour the oil/insecticide mix over the Backrubber for initial charge and re-charge. Alternatively use a sealed piece of guttering to soak. This way will provide the best charge. Hang hessian bags and smaller Backrubbers from the main Backrubber to catch excess oil mix to touch the animal in those hard to reach places.

Self-Oiling BackrubbersHang hose end of Backrubber 1.8 m high and attach hose to drum using tap and clamp (supplied). Turn tap on to full and observe oil mix slowly soaking through, turn Backrubber over a few times, until fully soaked. The tap should be left in the off position until you need to charge the Backrubber again, or allow to very slowly drip to allow constant charge. You must monitor oil usage because you may lose all your product if it drips too fast.
Hang Dunkems or hessian bags etc from the Backrubber to catch excess oil mix. The hang Dunkems or hessian bags will also flap around the animal providing further application. |
